Role Description
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of Design and Engineering projects, overseeing all aspects of Project Planning, Execution, and Delivery in accordance with the contract scope.
You will work in close collaboration with multidisciplined teams, including Designers, Engineers, Clients, and third-party Stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are met on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Previous experience of the UK Power Sector is preferable, but not essential for this role.
This role covers projects based in North East England.
Responsibilities
- Ensure scope and deliverables are clearly defined and delivered in accordance with the project requirements and contract to time, quality and cost.
- Effective communication, building and managing strong relationships with internal project teams, clients and external stakeholders.
- Lead the project team, actively managing key stakeholders to ensure their input and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Controlling internal and external commercial aspects of the project under the contract arrangements, NEC 4 contract form.
- Managing risk to the business and to the Client.
- Work effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental issues are proactively managed by all parties throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all contract/project activities adhere to current legislation and Client policies and procedures.
Experience
- 5 years of demonstrable experience of success in the delivery of projects, acting as Project Manager.
- Understanding of the application of NEC 4 forms of contract.
- Experience of leading multi-disciplined teams.
- Experience of stakeholder management.
- Knowledge and application of CDM.
- Knowledge of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies.
- Strong capability in application of project management practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Customer-centric approach to delivering a high-quality output.
- Proficient technical knowledge of the UK Power Sector and associated primary and secondary assets (Overhead Lines, Substations, Protection & Control, Underground Cables) is preferred but not essential and strong construction backgrounds or other utility knowledge/experience will also be considered).
Essential Qualifications
- Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience.
- Must already have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to secure this prior to commencement of the role.
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent desirable.
- Membership of IET / IAM leading to Chartered Status.
- Appropriate management qualification (i.e., APM; IPMA Level C and/or Prince2/PMP® certification).
Location
Home based, with the option of working from Omnia offices (Stafford, Stockton Heath, Northallerton), as per project requirements. Must be willing to travel anywhere throughout the UK, though you will predominantly cover works in North East England.
Working Hours
Ideally full time, but may consider part time staff positions.
This is a long-term role.
