Closing Date: 25 November 2025
Role Description
Omnia Projects is a UK-based engineering consultancy specialising in electricity Transmission and Distribution (T&D). In April 2025, the business was acquired by Egis, a leading global engineering group.
As SHESQ Manager, you will report to the Omnia Projects Senior Management Team, providing support across Safety, Health, Environment, Security and Quality disciplines to ensure compliance with our management systems. You will also provide regular reporting and coordination with the Egis UK SHES Group.
Omnia Projects operates a Business Management System accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. A key focus of the role will be assisting with the integration of Omnia’s existing management systems into the wider Egis Group Integrated Management System. While many local procedures will remain, they will require alignment and enhancement to reflect group standards and support the company’s continued growth.
We are looking for someone with a practical mindset—someone who can apply proportionate, risk-based solutions rather than adopting a “tick-box” approach to compliance. The right candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively with engineers and project teams to implement effective, straightforward safety management systems that control risk without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
In addition, you will oversee and provide leadership to the SHESQ team that delivers consultancy services to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the SHESQ division (currently seven staff), including line management, client engagement, and business development.
- Support the integration of Omnia’s management systems into the wider Egis UK Integrated Management System.
- Prepare and submit SHESQ KPI reports and compliance documentation** to the parent group.
- Promote a strong safety and environmental culture, encouraging the open reporting of hazards and near misses.
- Lead and coordinate incident investigations, ensuring lessons learned are shared and implemented.
- Provide practical SHESQ support to engineering and project delivery teams.
- Oversee office compliance activities, including PAT testing, fire risk assessments, DSE assessments, and emergency procedures.
- Manage the company’s competence and training records, ensuring all staff maintain up-to-date qualifications and evidence of competence.
- Support the induction process for new staff, ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality expectations are clearly communicated.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Omnia’s systems and processes as the business grows.
Experience & Knowledge
- Demonstrable experience in a SHE support or management role on complex UK construction projects — ideally within the Transmission & Distribution sector.
- Proven ability to adopt a pragmatic and proportionate approach to managing health, safety, and environmental risks.
- Experience of stakeholder management and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and their practical application.
- Understanding of temporary works principles.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK safety and environmental legislation, standards, and best practices.
- A customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, value-adding outcomes.
