Role Description

Omnia Projects, part of the Egis Group, are a UK-based engineering consultancy specialising in electricity Transmission and Distribution (T&D) providing engineering, project management and technical assurance.
A Health & Safety Advisor is required to work with major projects across the UK, focussing on high voltage substations and their related componants, to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards of Health & Safety. Experience of working in a High Voltage substation is essential.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects in accordance with the SHE strategy and establish engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of a positive health & safety culture.
- Define H&S responsibilities clearly for all personnel
- Provide tools, coaching and mentoring to enable personnel to manage their H&S responsibilities
- Ensure and demonstrate, both by direct interaction and through the audit programme, that such provision as detailed above is delivered and fully utilised
- Develop, manage and communicate a structures skills matrix for all project personnel and direct support functions
- Develop H&S procedures and continually review processes, identifying and implementing innovative improvements by interaction with project personnel
- Develop project H&S strategy and management systems to promote continuous improvement to create, achieve and sustain world-class performance, and ensure full engagement and education of the project management team for accountability in delivery
- Develop (through project management team) and implement the appropriate H&S culture within the project team, encompassing the 'Safety by Design' philosophy
- Attend regular monthly and weekly site meetings
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks at site
- Review Constructio Phase Plans
- Carry out site visits, audits and sensible monitoring
Requirements
- Formal H&S training (minimum NEBOSH Certificate)
- Previous accountability and ownership for allocated H&S issues, improvement plans and initiatives.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the abilitiy to convey H&S delivery concepts in and informative and collaborative manner.
- Experiece of preparing concise, accurate reports
- Desire to enhance personal development as a H&S professional
- Must be a self-starter, capable of working remote from management.
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel.
- Must have own car with full driving licence and be willing to travel for company business.
