Front End Engineering Design

Front End Engineering Design (FEED) is conducted after the concept and feasibility studies, and is used to provide further clarity on project scope, programme and cost to support the investment decision and sanction process. The objective is to develop the project design to sufficient detail to support a±15% project cost estimate.

FEED packages generally include the following:

  • Main equipment data sheets and specifications
  • Single Line Diagram (SLDs) and Key Line Diagrams (KLDs)
  • Stage-by-Stage Diagrams
  • General Arrangements Drawings
  • Cost estimate
  • Cost loaded programme
  • Identification and investigation of long lead items
  • System access requirements and constraints
  • Planning and environmental assessments
  • Contracting strategy
  • HAZID Register
  • Project Execution Plan
