Protection Settings and Studies

The purpose of a protection system is to detect a fault on the power system and instruct a trip to isolate the fault. This process needs to be accomplished with designed parameters to maintain power system stability and avoid damage to plant, which is only designed to carry fault current for a short period.

Our experience of protection settings and system studies includes small private networks, generators, distribution and transmission networks. We have Settings Engineers who are authorised to TP141 for undertaking settings for National Grid projects, in accordance with their TP107 procedure.
